We are thrilled to be able to expand our services to include professional nursing. The continuum of care which nursing offers provides peace of mind for clients and their families. Having professional nursing services now enables us to meet even more of our clients' needs and touch their lives in very practical and deeply personal ways.

Having a complimentary no obligation 'Resident Health Care Assessment' performed by a Helping Hands Registered Nurse allows us to get a clear picture of how to best manage your current health care needs.

Our nursing services may include such items as medication administration, intravenous therapy, pain and symptom management, chronic disease management, oncology care, respite care for other caregivers or family, palliative care, changing of wound dressings, post-surgery monitoring, foot care, ventilator and tracheostomy care, and serious injury care.

Helping Hands Non-Medical Services

We offer non-medical companion and respite services, uniquely personalized and tailored exclusively for each individual client's needs.

Our clients receive consistent service from the same Helping Hands Companion, with whom they can develop a bond of trust and friendship and share special times.

Meeting friends at a coffee shop, strolling by the water or through the park, reminiscing over treasured photographs, taking in a good film or play all help to make someone's day special. Our broad range of services might include meal preparation, checking food expiration dates, caring for pets or providing respite for family caregivers. Birthdays and celebrations can also be planned - just leave the details to me!"

If you or those you care for are unable to drive, or simply need a trusted friend by their side, we provide helpful door-to-door transport and accompaniment for those necessary and important appointments and errands.

Our aim is to help clients and their families attain maximum quality of life. We strive to provide solutions to as many of their various challenges as possible. As such we do not have a fixed list of services but remain open to helping wherever we can.

Our services include, but are not limited to:

• Companionship
• Transport and accompaniment for appointments, errands, prescriptions, personal shopping etc.
• Accompaniment on walks, to the theatre, plays, concerts, special events (weddings, parties etc.)
• Outings, local attractions and events
• Planning and hosting teas, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and family get-togethers
• Watching movies, reading, playing games
• Visiting with neighbours and friends
• Attending religious services
• Corresponding with friends and family
• Secretarial work/computer file organization / memoirs or life stories
• Organizing personal effects
• Monitoring diet, checking food expiration dates
• Meal planning, preparation and clean-up
• Medication reminders
• Planning and packing for trips, and receiving visitors
• Help with airport and travel tasks
• Pet care
• Maintenance of client calendar
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Respite for family caregivers

The list goes on. No task is too small. We are here to help and ensure our clients have the freedom and support needed to enjoy life to the full.
